Donations to the Aln Valley Railway

Building a railway line, preserving heritage locomotives, rolling stock, trackwork and buildings is a costly business. The Aln Valley Railway is grateful to receive many donations each year, both large and small, which help us to fund the Aln Valley Project. Donations to us are so important as until we are able to run trains and carry passengers, we are making no operating revenue.

Whilst we can and do approach grant aid bodies, local councils and other organisations for money, this is never enough. We would be most grateful for any contribution you could make towards helping us achieve our goal of reopening the line from Alnwick to Alnmouth.

If you are a UK tax payer and complete a Gift Aid declaration, we are also able to recover from the Government an amount equivalent to the tax you have paid on your donation at no cost to yourself, so you help us even more.
